SAFE DRIVING!

Hello everyone!!

It's late but I wanted to make this quick post for an update & lesson/reminder of the day to everyone.

Today I got into a minor car accident.

My best friend & I who hadn't seen each other in almost 3 weeks took the day to just hangout and have fun and explore our city.

We had decided to go downtown for lunch that after need and just after we had exited the highway and were waiting at the red light when we were rear-ended quite hard. The driver had been speeding when he hit our stopped car.

The severity of damage to our car is unknown thus far as we still need to see a mechanic however, thankfully all people involved came out with no major injuries. However, it did bring our nice day together to a screeching halt (unlike the car behind us da dum tss)

This probably isn't a good time to make jokes though.

The whole reason I am writing this update is not to tell you about my first car accident (which I would like to point out is not the fault of mine what so ever) but because this entire accident could have been avoided if the driver behind us had not chosen to text and drive.

This accident occurred only a mere few kilometres away from where 2 best friends lost their lives in a car accident just over a month ago, and where a young man lost his life to a drunk driving accident a short while after.

Cars are a creation of man and to operate such a powerful machine gives us the responsibility to handle them with care and awareness.

I was extremely lucky my accident was not more severe, but these things do happen every single day because drivers don't consider the consequences of their actions when getting behind a wheel.

I'd like to remind everyone to always take that responsibility seriously. Not only that but you have the responsibility to stop or report a distracted/under the influence driver.

Please do your part to keep the roads safe. It would be so nice if some lives were saved by a few simple, smart choices.

Tonight I'm going to get with nothing more than a sore back, which I could not be more thankful for.

Stay safe everyone.

Goodnight!

Jade

  1. Oh my! It seems that you are really upset due to what happened when you got involved in an accident. I guess it's not enough for just to just drive safely, as there are other drivers who do not do the same. However, it's still the best thing to do. In any way, knowing that you didn't sustain any injury from that is such a relief. Thanks for sharing that, Jadey! Take care always!

  2. Thanks for your comment Leticia!!

It was definitely difficult to deal with the impacts of the accident afterward. Unfortunately I've been dealing with a minor neck injury caused by it that was unknown at the time I wrote this post, but thankfully it is only minor. I was also a very nervous driver for a little while afterwards! However, things are getting definitely getting better! I'm working on being a more aware driver by looking at other cars actions that may be dangerous to avoid potential accidents!
