HOW TO: MOISTURIZING SHINE ENHANCING HAIR MASK DIY

HEY PALS

Lets start off with a little story about my anxieties over the chemicals in beauty products!!!!! FUN STUFF!!!!!!!

This past year (my freshman year in uni) and throughout my senior year of high school as well, I became exceedingly aware of the harm some of the additives of beauty products can cause.
This terrified me and is what made me switch to using all natural beauty products on myself. Mind you I am diagnosed with health anxiety so despite many additives having side effects that were rare or usually minor I still freaked out.

Regardless, after making this switch I can honestly say I will NEVER go back to using anything that is not natural. There was a significant difference in the looks of my skin and hair in the best way possible! My skin looks less tired and more fresh and I've fallen completely in love with my beauty routine!

So now onto the story. This past week my hair has been in a tired, dry and frizzy state that I was not enjoying WHAT SO EVER and it just made me feel bad about my appearance when I knew my hair wasn't looking its best.

By the time Canada Day rolled around I was going out for the day and had become fed up with my hair being uncorporative with me!!!!! I wanted to do some sort of deep conditioning to restore my hair. however, I was in a bit of a pickle due to the fact it was a holiday and all the stores were closed. I had some leftover hair masks from before I had switched to all natural products but due to my anxieties regarding putting chemicals on my body that was the absolute last thing I wanted to do.

In the middle me minorly freaking out over a bad hair day my sweet mother suggested I save my money and a homemade one out of stuff I could find in our kitchen....WHY HAD I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE???????????

So I took my mission to pinterest (where else right?) where I researched common items used in homemade hair masks and which ones would give me the results I wanted. After a good half hour of research (I'm seriously not kidding) I came up with a formula for myself and I was absolutely amazed with my results.

So that is the end of my not so exciting story BUT since you spent the time reading this I might as well be nice and give you my recipe for my very own, all natural hair mask that provides a moisture and shine boost for you hair. SO HERE IT IS

This creates more than enough for 1 person with long hair and enough for 2 people with short hair! My mom even used this mask as a treatment just for her ends.

1 whole avocado (KEEP THE PITT)
1 whole egg
2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 cup of raw apple cider vinegar (regular will also do)

Mix products in a blender until they reach and creamy texture.

The avocado and oil will add oils to you hair to moisturize, the egg will add protein in order to deliver strength and shine to your hair and the vinegar will cut the grease of the other products so it is not impossible to wash the various foods out of your hair

Leave mask in for 15-25 minutes then shampoo and condition as normal to wash it out

If you end up having leftovers just keep the avocado pitt and refrigerate the mask in a closed container until you wish to use it again.

I hope this was helpful and if anyone chooses to try this mask please let me know what your results were like!

Until next time!

Jade
